During the certification audit, IRZ has confirmed compliance of its environment management system and occupational health and safety management system to requirements of the international standards ISO 14001:2015 and BS OHSAS 18001.
The compliance assessment was performed by German company DQS. During the certification audit, the experts reviewed current company standards in the field of safety and health management, visited production facilities and talked to employees in order to examine how these standards are implemented within the company, assessed the risk management system and checked compliance of production processes to the company standards and requirements of ISO 14001:2015 and BS OHSAS 18001.
According to results of the audit, AO “IRZ” and its subsidiaries IRZ, IRZ TEST, IRZ TEK, IRZ-Lokomotiv, IRZ-FOTON, IRZ-Rinkos and IRZ-Svyaz obtained certificates of compliance valid till 2021.
The environment management system and occupational health and safety system were implemented in the company more than 10 years ago. In 2008 IRZ was one of the first industrial companies in Udmurt Republic which got certificate of compliance to OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001. The company confirmed the certificates annually during surveillance audits. Specially for certification to the updated version of the standard, IRZ advanced in risk management and implemented continuous improvement in environment management.

In the frame of the labor safety management system, IRZ regularly trains its employees to industrial safety basics, assesses labor conditions, modernizes air ventilation and environmental control systems, provides employees with individual protective equipment. In 2017 the company invested 66 million rubbles in improvement of labor conditions, safety ensuring, injury prevention, etc.
In the frame of the ecological policy, the company modernizes waste disposal plants, makes trash pressing, encourages employees’ careful attitude to natural resources, uses energy efficiency technologies. In 2017 the company respected the limit requirements for emission, disposal in steams, and waste.
ISO 14001 sets criteria for environment management system. It can be used by organizations to increase efficiency of resource management, reduce losses and expenses.
OHSAS 18000 is series of standards covering requirements and instructions to development and implementation of occupational health and safety systems which help the company to manage risks in the management system and increase its efficiency. Requirements of the standards relate to occupational safety rather than to company’s products or service safety.
